Propecia

Propecia is a drug that has been a major hit on the market of anti hair loss products internationally. Currently, it is a number 2 bestseller among the tablets sold on the international market, after Viagra. Propecia is rapidly gaining popularity and heavily advertised in the pharmaceutical market.

There are several forms of hair loss, but the most common one is the so-called androgenic alopecia. Some experts believe that 90-95% of people who suffer from hair loss suffer from alopecia. Studies show that male sex hormones have a key role in the development of both male and female androgenic alopecia.

Particular attention is paid to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and enzyme called 5-alpha reductase which is involved in its metabolism. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is one of the male hormones that play an important role in the development stage of the male body, but with age they lead to baldness of men. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) gradually "squeezes" the hair follicles for as long as they are unable to reproduce the visible part of hairs.

Enzyme 5-alpha reductase plays an important role of the formation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In connection with the above, certain inhibitors (blockers) attract attention of researchers, 5 alpha-reductase and, above all, Propecia – the drug which until recently was used for the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia.

Propecia is a drug formulated to treat hair loss and baldness in men and only men. Propecia comes in form of oral tablets which must be taken in one piece once a day.

Propecia is intended for the treatment of androgen-only forms of alopecia (synonyms for that being male-pattern baldness, hereditary alopecia). Approximately 95% of all cases of baldness fall under this type. The drug is not intended to treat other forms of hair loss: hot spot baldness (alopecia areata), alopecia, caused by lack of vitamins and nutrients, and other similar forms of baldness. The principles of these forms of hair loss is totally different from that of androgenic alopecia, and the benefits of Propecia will be little or non-existent.

Propecia usually gives very good results, allowing you to restore hair growth, not only on the crown, but also in the frontal bald patches. These areas are usually difficult to treat. The effectiveness of Propecia to combat hair loss is the fact that in some men who took Propecia, the amount of hair remained the same or increased, while 66% grew a significant amount of new hair to replace fallen. And it was not vellus hair (the feeling that something there seems to be growing), but real normal hair. Results achieved by different patients, naturally differ. Most importantly, it is proven by clinical trials, the vast majority of patients using Propecia at least prevents further hair loss in patients taking the medicine. Imagine that, going to the mirror in two or three years, you'll see that you hairstyle has remained the same as this morning. And, with all probability, a person with luxurious hairstyle will glance back at you after Propecia therapy!
